The experts at Car and Driver report that the automatic VW GTI is fun to drive with a high level of agility and responsive steering. Fuel economy in the 2024 Golf GTI was rated at 25 MPG in the city and 34 MPG on the highway so it's expected that the 2025 model should be in the same neighborhood.

The 2025 Volkswagen Golf GTI has been given subtle modifications in its exterior design. The new body color flows around the lower air intakes and the slightly modified grille serves up a bolder front fascia.
